A NEW FEATURE OF THE STUDY OF AMERICAN WOMEN'S HISTORY: ON WOMEN'S DISUNITY Liu Jun (98) Since the 1980s, scholars in the study of American women's history have become interested in the disunity within women's groups and started to analyze the social, political, economic and cultural factors that have caused such a phenomenon. All historians of American women's affairs, in theory and practice, have to face the reality that women's gender consciousness cannot be separated from their racial, class and cultural consciousness. The recognition of the diversity of American women's interests results from a deeper study of American women's history, and shows the maturity of these historians in their work.
